We’re very proud to announce that our disabled toilet has been granted Changing Places status. It is the first of its kind in Stroud means local people and visitors who require a changing place toilet can enjoy coming to the town without additional stress.
The new loo will be open Monday-Saturday 10am-3pm for anyone who needs a hoist or adult-sized changing bench. The facility features a height adjustable bench, hoist and nearby free disabled parking.
There are now 10 Changing Places toilets in Gloucestershire. A full list of locations can be found on the Changing Places website (www.changing-places.org).
Emma Sutton, Allsorts member and mother of India, who has additional needs:
“Having an accessible toilet with hoisting in Stroud will mean so much to us. At the moment we can only go out for 3-4 hours before having to go home. We have to plan all our days round where there will be a toilet we can use. Having a local one will make a huge difference to our lives.”
David Drew, MP for Stroud, said:
“I am so pleased that Allsorts has taken the initiative to establish Stroud’s first Changing Place. It’s vital that we have appropriate toilet facilities here in the town and it will make a huge difference to those living locally as well as those who’d like to visit. Thank you Allsorts for making this possible.”
