Tewkesbury Leisure Centre was alive with energy and excitement on Friday morning as over 50 students came together for the YuGo Swimming Gala.
Organised by YuGo – the specialist sport and exercise arm of Allsorts – the event provided a fun and inclusive experience for students of all abilities.
Six specialist schools from across Gloucestershire were in attendance:
- Bettridge School
- Cotswold Chine School
- Heart of the Forest Community Special School
- William Morris School
- Alderman Knight School
- The Milestone School

A mixture of students from across key stage two, three and four took part, with participants competing in races in the main pool and also enjoying relaxed swimming and play in the smaller pool. It was a day of movement and teamwork, showing that swimming is for everyone.
The event was expertly led by YuGo staff Max, Dan and George in collaboration with Leisure Centre Manager Daisy and her team of enthusiastic volunteers.
Dan Parry, Swimming and Football Manager at Allsorts, reflected on the success of the day: “It was fantastic to see pupils from different schools coming together, supporting each other and having fun in the water.
“A huge thank you to all the students and schools for getting involved and to the amazing team at Tewkesbury Leisure centre for their support in making the event such a success.”

YuGo is committed to breaking down barriers to exercise, making sport accessible, fun and meaningful for everyone. As the trading arm of Allsorts, YuGo uses surplus profits to support children and young people with additional needs and their families.
A huge well done to everyone who took part in the 2025 Swimming Gala – we can’t wait to do it all again next year!
