Let’s get together by Zoom in Half Term!

Allsorts Family Quiz
2pm – 3pm Tuesday 26th May

Join Max and Clarissa for some tricky (and not so tricky) questions in this inclusive family quiz where all the answers are colours! Email Clarissa with your Family Team name for a Zoom invite and let the friendly rivalry begin!

Allsorts Got Talent
2.30pm – 3.30pm Wednesday 27th May

Can you hula-hoop, tell a funny joke, do a dance, an impression, play a tune or do a magic trick? Children can share their talents with other Allsorts families and have some fun together this half term!  Email Clarissa with your name and a description of your talent and we will send you a Zoom invite. Allsorts members also welcome as spectators.

Allsorts Pet Show
2pm – 3pm Thursday 28th May

We all love our furry and feathered friends and they are often the stars of the show when we do video calls at home.  Let’s celebrate them at the Allsorts Pet Show!  We will host a Zoom meeting and families can join to take it in turns to show off their dogs, cats, rabbits, parrots, lizards and goldfish! We will have certificates for the Best Trained Pet; Best Dressed Pet: Most Playful Pet; Quietest Pet and Most Surprising Pet.  Email Clarissa and tell her your pet’s name, age and breed and we will send you a Zoom invite.

Weekly activities

Monday Story Time – read aloud with Allsorts

You asked us to read your favourite stories aloud and we’ve been sharing these on Youtube every Monday morning. This week: The Gruffalo
MacMillan publishers have temporarily relaxed copyright permissions and to comply with these the reading is unlisted on Youtube (email [email protected] for the link to open it) and it will be deleted in July.

Tuesday Toddler Tunes (older children welcome too!)

Toddler Group Zoom session
Tuesday 19th May at 10am
Email Clarissa for an invite

Our toddler group love volunteer Ann’s gentle music making and nursery rhymes.  Join us by Zoom to say hello and share some songs.  Open to older children and siblings too. To sing along at home see Ann’s films on our YouTube channel.

Wednesday is Music Time!

Youth Club – Making Music with Lee Chaos
4pm every Wednesday by Zoom
Email Clarissa for an invite to this fun interactive singalong with your friends from Allsorts youth clubs

Music and story session with Croc n Roll
Steph from Croc n Roll often appears at Family Music Time and has been sharing her free weekly Youtube sessions with Allsorts members. Here’s a taster session and email Clarissa to get the links to six more films!

Thursday Family Challenge – a fun weekly Facebook challenge

Make your own messy play club in the kitchen or the garden. Here are a few ideas from our messy play sessions
💦Make cornflour gloop on a tray using 2 parts cornflour to 1 part water and some drops of food colouring.
💦Fill a washing up bowl (or small paddling pool!) with cornflakes and use plastic beakers or scoops for crunchy pouring fun.
💦Make your own play dough by mixing one cup of water, one tablespoon of oil, half a cup of salt and one tablespoon of cream of tartar in a saucepan on low heat. Once warm, remove it from the heat and stir in a cup of flour. Knead until smooth and keep in an airtight container. This should stay fresh for six months.
💦Cook half a pack of spaghetti and split into two or three bowls – use food colours to create rainbow spaghetti
💦Put plastic dinosaurs in a mixing bowl, fill with green jelly and leave to set in the fridge. Have fun digging them out of the sticky swamp!

Firming up friendships
