Allsorts Christmas Crafting Challenge!

Update: We’re thrilled to share that our Craft 15-Christmas stalls raised an amazing £660!

A huge thank you to the talented crafters, groups, and organisations who donated handmade items, our stall volunteers and to everyone who purchased from our craft stalls. Your support helps us continue making a difference to the lives of children with additional needs and their families.

As part of our 15th anniversary celebrations, we’re excited to launch Challenge 15 – a new fundraiser designed to help us continue our work for another 15 years.

Challenge 15 is simple – set yourself a challenge based on the number 15! One of the most exciting ways to get involved is through our Craft-15 Challenge!

We’re inviting local individuals, businesses and community groups to make 15 Christmas themed items to donate for sale at local goodwill events. Whether it’s knitting, crochet, sewing, or woodcraft, all festive creations are welcome.

These handmade items will help us raise essential funds and spread awareness about our mission to support families with disabled children.

Need some inspiration? Visit our Pinterest page for a host of craft ideas to get you started! Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or just starting out, there’s something for everyone.

We’ll be at the Stroud Goodwill event in the Five Valleys Shopping Centre on 6th December 4:30pm-8:30pm, where we’ll be spreading awareness about Allsorts and selling your kindly donated crafts! We’ll also be set up in the Brunel Mall from 11am-2pm on 14th December and 11am-3pm on 20th December.

How to get involved:

  • Get together with your craft group, or go solo, and craft 15 Christmas-themed decorations, ornaments or gift items.
  • Donate your finished crafts to Allsorts by 15th November – we’ll have donation drop-offs on 8th, 11th & 22nd November at our Hub from 11am-4pm.
  • Spread the word! Share our Challenge 15 appeal with friends and colleagues, or display a Craft-15 poster in your workplace or community hub. You can download the poster here!

By taking part in Craft-15, you’re not just making festive items, you’re making a real difference. Every donation helps Allsorts provide much-needed support to young people with additional needs.

Allsorts’ Community and Events Fundraiser, Julie Sarahs, said: “Craft-15 is a wonderful way for the community to come together and support local families. Each handmade item is a generous gift, crafted with care, and will go a long way in helping us raise funds during this special anniversary year!”

Thank you for being part of our journey. Let’s make this 15th anniversary year unforgettable – one craft at a time!

Regift your unwanted Christmas presents to Allsorts

Christmas is a time for giving, but what happens when you receive a present that doesn’t quite hit the mark? Maybe it’s a duplicate of something you already own, or simply an item that’s just not your style. Instead of tucking it away in a cupboard, why not use it to make a positive difference to the community?

This January, our fundraising team invites you to participate in our Regift Your Gift campaign. By donating your new, unwanted Christmas presents to us, you can help play your part in supporting disabled children and their families across Gloucestershire.

Why Regift?

We can make use of your unwanted gifts and ensure they’re not forgotten about or thrown away. Donated items will be used as prizes for fundraising raffles and tombola’s, helping us raise vital funds to support our programmes.

These funds enable us to provide everyday accessible activities that help young people with additional needs build confidence, make friends and enjoy themselves.

Urgent Christmas Appeal 2024

Allsorts Christmas Appeal 2024
Allsorts Christmas Appeal

We need your help to buy toys and sensory equipment

Our toy lending library has been a big part of Allsorts since we started fifteen years ago. Members can borrow specialist toys to help their disabled children play, learn and develop.

Our shelves are running low and we need your help. Specialist equipment and sensory toys are expensive and often need replacing due to demand.

Together, we can unwrap a world of play this festive season.

Find out how your donation could make an impact

  • £15 could buy a sensory toy
  • £50 could buy a specialist weighted blanket
  • £200 would fund the home of our Toy Library for an entire day

Why toys are so important to our Members…

Toys play a crucial role in the development of all children, but for children with disabilities, they are especially significant. Toys provide children with opportunities to develop their motor skills, cognitive abilities, language development, and those important social skills such as sharing, turn-taking, and cooperation.

“Allsorts is a popular place, so some of the toys are already on loan. We have to wait quite a while until a toy becomes available.”

For many families, the Toy Library is more than just a source of toys – it’s a lifeline. Many of these items are expensive to purchase, so we offer a practical solution by loaning items on a short or long-term basis. This unique service allows families to try out toys and equipment before making any big purchases.

“These aren’t toys you find in typical shops. They’re specially made for children with special needs and they’re very expensive – a lot of us parents can’t afford them.”

Donate and spread the word about our Christmas Appeal today! Without essential new items we’ll be very limited in what we can offer families needing support.

Thank you so much for your support.
