Allsorts for Parents and Carers
Allsorts grew from a parent and carer group which wanted to create a strong and supportive community. This is still at the root of all our parent and carer activities – we find ways to come together for support, information and friendship. Allsorts families often tell us that being with other people who “get it” is one of the most important aspects of their membership. You can connect with others whilst taking your child to an activity or you can dip in to our parent and carer sessions, where the focus is firmly on you. We know that Allsorts parents and carers work harder than most and we want to make life easier where we can. The Covid-19 pandemic has left many parents feeling even more isolated than usual, but the Allsorts community is here for you.
The Allsorts team is made up of dedicated professionals who are experienced in their field. Our Families Coordinator can offer emotional support as well as information and signposting to other organisations which can help you and your child. Plus we hold regular information sessions on topics including:
Sadly the Covid-19 pandemic has put a stop to our weekly parent group at the Activity Hub, as well as the monthly Grandparents Group and regular information sessions. However, we quickly moved our groups online and now offer a mixture of virtual support groups for parents, carers and grandparents, through informal advice and information sessions. There are also some much needed ‘person to person’ small group events which are developed in response to our members’ needs and requests.
Allsorts parents and carers will always find ways to connect. We’ve been crafting together, walking amongst nature, chatting on Facebook and gathering together online. Join our community and find supportive events today.

There’s nothing quite like Allsorts! The charity responds to the needs of families in a unique way. This has been brilliantly demonstrated in its response to the COVID-19 crisis by developing various regular on-line activities for all ages and in re-establishing a limited toy library service in a safe way, as well as planning for the resumption of other activities very soon!
We feel listened to, valued, supported and we feel we genuinely cared about as a family. The activities offered are sensitive to the needs of our child and he hugely benefits from them. Thank you.
“Allsorts is accessible, available and always there. It leaves your family wanting to go back again and again! It’s like a second family to us. Such a safe, secure and supportive environment and the only charity of its kind. Regular and routine sessions constantly on offer for all. Trusting, understanding and professional team sharing, caring and forever seeking feedback and new ideas to support families like us. Thank you so much!”
