Allsorts grew from a parent and carer group which wanted to create a strong and supportive community. This is still at the root of all our parent and carer activities – we find ways to come together for support, information and friendship.
Allsorts families often tell us that being with other people who “get it” is one of the most important aspects of their membership. You can connect with others whilst taking your child to an activity or you can dip in to our parent and carer sessions, where the focus is firmly on you. We know that Allsorts parents and carers work harder than most and we want to make life easier where we can.
The Allsorts team is made up of dedicated professionals who are experienced in their field. Our Families team can offer emotional support as well as information and signposting to other organisations which can help you and your child. Plus we hold regular information sessions on topics including:
- Parental Self-Care
- Sensory Issues
- Positive Behaviour Support
- Wills and Trusts
- Social Care Rights
- EHCP Advice
“Allsorts is accessible, available and always there. It leaves your family wanting to go back again and again! It’s like a second family to us. Such a safe, secure and supportive environment and the only charity of its kind. Regular and routine sessions constantly on offer for all. Trusting, understanding and professional team sharing, caring and forever seeking feedback and new ideas to support families like us. Thank you so much!”
