Our 15th anniversary

Allsorts 15th anniversary

This year we are proudly celebrating our 15th anniversary.

Since 2009 we’ve been bringing families with disabled children together and providing them with accessible opportunities. Allsorts has grown from a grassroots initiative, led by a group of parents, to a vital community resource in Gloucestershire.

Allsorts is 15 years old in 2024!

Help us today

To celebrate this milestone, we’re launching several fundraising initiatives including our ‘Challenge 15’ campaign. These events aim to raise essential funds to continue and expand Allsorts’ vital work.

Donate £15

Just £15 can make a difference, helping Allsorts provide activities for our member families.

Challenge 15

Let’s make a difference, one challenge at a time. Set yourself a challenge around the number 15.

15 years of impact

A group of parents were instrumental in setting up the charity, knowing there was a clear need for accessible provision in our county. This need remains today, with 500 Allsorts families attending Allsorts 7833 times in 2023. But these families aren’t just numbers, they are all on their own unique journeys, raising a child with additional needs.

“I’ve been involved in one way or another since 1996. The number of activities has expanded as the team has grown!”

“I had John in a pushchair, and I nervously wheeled him round the corner of the hall. Clare said: ‘Of course you’re supposed to be here!’ and I immediately felt at home.”

Jo Bell
Listen to Jo’s story

We chatted to Jo Bell recently in our podcast series, Allsorts of Conversations, where Jo joined us to talk about her journey with Allsorts.

“If you looked at me when I first started Allsorts, you’d never think I’d be able to drive, or even do my GCSE’s, or even become a lifeguard at my work now”.

We made a short film with Alfie, an Allsorts member for 13 years – developing from a shy youngster to a confident young adult, who captains our Allstars football team.

Looking ahead

As we reflect on this remarkable journey, our focus turns to the future. The next 15 years present new challenges, with an ever-increasing demand for services and a challenging fundraising climate. Continued support from the community and donors is more crucial than ever to sustain and expand our impact.

“We’ve absolutely loved becoming a part of Allsorts. It’s really made our world a better place.”
