We rely on the generosity of the community to keep our charity thriving.
There are many ways you can help. You can be sponsored to do just about anything! From running a marathon to jumping out of a plane, shaving your head or growing a beard.
You could organise an event and rally your friends, family, and local community together. Hold a cake sale, organise a quiz in your local pub, or plan a big charity ball.
You can plan something small or big. On your own or part of a group. Make it fun, make it whacky or get competitive. The ideas are endless, so use your imagination!
We are here to support you every step of the way, so don’t forget to tell us about your plans.

Handy tips to make your event a success
Who, what, where, when, how?
Decide who’s going to be involved, what you plan to do, the location, date and time (don’t forget to think about things like bank holidays and school times) and how you’re going to raise money at your event. You might sell tickets, have a raffle, get sponsorship or sell food or drinks.
And, don’t forget the ‘why.’
While you want to make your event as popular and fun as possible, you also want to remind people why you are raising money, and just how their donations will make a difference.
Spread the word
Email all your contacts, share your event on all your social media profiles, and get in touch with your local paper. Don’t forget to tell us too so that we can promote to our members and supporters.
Set up a fundraising page
Setting up a JustGiving page can be done in just a few clicks. It’s a great way to collect money from your friends and family, and there are lots of great tools and tips to help you make the most of your efforts.
Gift Aid it
If you’re collecting sponsorship or donations, we can claim an extra 25% in gift aid from the government. We can do this for you, but we need you to collect the right information for us. Get in touch to find out more.
Ask us for help
We can give you all the support you need and can advise on things like insurance, health and safety and paying in your donation.
Give yourself a pat on the back
Don’t forget that you are amazing and that by making an effort to raise money you are changing peoples’ everyday lives for the better. Thank you.
